After brainstorming with our Individual Giving Officer, we decided to base our themes on our three-step model towards eradicating modern slavery: respond, equip, disrupt. Each step highlighted a different programmatic team at Polaris and the work it was doing. Our Individual Giving Officer took the lead on writing email content, while I created social media and blog content.
I created images for donation pages, email headers, and social promotion based on the programs highlighted in the campaign: the National Human Trafficking Hotline, and our teams fighting Sex Trafficking in Mexico and Illicit Massage Businesses.
We raised nearly $60,000 in 24 hours from 426 donors, including 178 new donors (compared to $46,000 from 235 donors the previous year).
